These instructions apply to organizations where users share a single fax mailbox among multiple users. Typically, the allowed email sending address attached to your account will be [email protected] (where @yourcompany.com is your company email domain).
If you have your own personal fax number and account, skip steps 2-4 and send from your own email address instead.
1. Begin by composing a new e-mail message in Outlook

2. If this is the first time you have sent a fax from this computer click the "Options" tab in the top menu, then click the "From" button in the "Show Fields" category.

3. The "From" drop-down menu will appear next to your Send button. Click the "From" drop-down menu button, then select "Other Email Address..."

4. In the "Send From Other Email Address" dialog box, either type fax in the text box or use the "From..." button to locate your outgoing fax account. Then click the "OK" button.

5. Finish composing your message, keeping the following in mind:
- the email recipient will be their fax number including country code, with @faxout.ca appended to it
- the email subject that you enter will appear to the recipient in the "Re:" field on the fax cover page
- the body of the email will be added to the "Comments" section on the fax cover page
- any documents you attach will be converted to images and included as additional pages

Depending on the number of pages, your fax may take 10 minutes or more to be processed. Your fax mailbox will recieve a message with the final status once it has completed - both for successful sends and communication failures.
